S Class 1997 Bumper removal for installing rear parking sensor
Hi All
I am the proud owner of an S Class 1997 320, with only 73,000 on the clock, and in excellent condition, and certainly the best most comfortable car I have ever owned. I am about to install an electromagnetic parking sensor and need to remove the rear bumper to install the magnetic strip. I have located and removed four bolts that bold the sides on the bumper to the rear wings and the three bolts that hold the bumper to the boot or trunk. It still seems fairly well stuck. Am I missing anything? Are there any more bolts or fixings holding the bumper on? Do I just use more brute force and ignorance? Secondly, I need to tap into the reversing light feed to obtain a 12v supply for the sensor. The reversing light seems to be located in a holder that fits into the lighting cluster. Does anyone have any idea how I can tap into the feed? Thanks in anticipation Alastair |
