I just acquired a 1986 190E as a project car. When you start the car it's a little rough in starting, but when you step on the accelerator it wants to die, then it will start to pick up and seems to have power at the top end.
Items that i did notice when I started to check the engine:

The distributor is set in a very advanced position, when I tried to move it back the car wanted to die.[/align][*]
When I pulled the plugs # 1& #4 are running lean and #2 & #3 are very rich.[/align][*]
It has new plug wires (the correct type), and plugs (Bosch super plus). [/align][/ol]
