hello everyone, im new to the forum. My problem is on friday 3/13/15 i left my home drove to end of my street to convience store no problems Left to go across street and my car C280 1995 lost power and cut off. i had to have it towed back home. My husband is a mechanic. I order a fuel pump and he replaced it, now car start but only in idle. when you try to put in gear it cuts off....plz help me.

 

Hi there. Good luck to you getting a reply or help to your problem. I posted an almost similar problem with my car some time back,but received no help accept some comments from similarly fraustrated new members.
My car won't stay started unless my foot is on the accelarator for about 4-5 mins,till it warms up. It all started when i disconnected the battery to remove a dead rat underneath the battery. After that, the engine didn't reset itself.
So if you haven't sorted it out by now, start the car,keep the revs at 1000rpm for about 2-3mins,slowly easing off on the rpm,till the temp gauge indicates a raise. Then move off your foot,try engaging gear and it might stay on. I do that all the time when i want to go anywhere. Good luck.
