MODIFYING AN '85 190E
Hello, this is PapaBenz here. I'm new to this site, so bare with me. My 190E had always been good to me, but it now needs mechanical work, and I'm also interested in doing some really fancy aftermarket upgrades to the body. Does anybody know of any people in the Dallas or the surrounding area who specialize in modifying older model Mercedes? Perhaps a car club who has their own mechanics and bodyshop? Any info would help. Thanks...
Well, first of all I want to get the engine up to par, but that's a given. But I would like to have the interior reupholstered- seats, headliner and all. I would also like to get a custom paint job. For wheels, I know somebody that has a set of 17 inch chrome rims that are all jacked up, but they're willing to give them to me free of charge to have re-chromed- that wouldn't be a bad idea. I think it would only cost me a little under $200 a rim, and the set is worth $2200. Well, thanks for the warm welcome! I hope this forum business will be a good experience for me. But if you know of anybody that could help me, that would be great. Thanks again...
I'm looking to get some work done on mine too.
Right now I am keeping it simple and getting the essentials down
(brakes, tires, wheels, exhaust) before moving on to bigger things.
I'm not sure I want to get as pimp as you (I want mine to be more
of a 'restored' look) but if you do get work done post it up.
I'm intersted in seeing what you got or can get done and what it looks
like...
Good Luck...
