mercedes r129 sl500 1992

Hi everyone I bought a 1992 sl500 a couple of weeks back and your forum has been a God send!! so far I have fixed the drivers seat switch and the Heater fan. So much so I thought I should join !! I now have one remaining fault my front fog lights won't work I think its a relay? but which is the relay and where is it? I have searched the forums and had no luck is it in the box behind the fuse box? if so which one is it???
Funny the rear fog works fine are they on two sepeate relays or do the share a split relay?

Help Russ !!

Car info its a registered 1991 here in New Zealand but is a 1992 MY car with 82000ks on it its silver with beige leather interior. was imported from Japan in 2003. At some stage it has had a full and rather good repaint from the original metallic red colour to Silver. I will load some pictures asap.

I believe yours is a 500SL and the SL didn't go in front until later. Anyway, I have a 1996. Are you certain you are operating the switch correctly. If like mine, the fog lamps won't work without the headlights. Once the headlights are on, pull out (towards you) on the light switch. If that isn't the problem, I'll check on the proper fuse when I get mine out of the shop. I just had the Crank Position sensor replaced and now when I start it, put the shift lever in Reverse, as soon as I take my foot off the brake, the engine dies. It doesn't have this problem in Drive, but does make it difficult to get out of the garage. Since this hadn't occured until I had the sensor problem, it is back at the shop. Hopefully a computer code will identify the problem.
