I am about 2 days away from closing on a black 2002 CLK430 with 26,000 miles. :)

Anything I should be checking for or cognizant about? I know these are high maintenance vehicles, but don't want to be spending all of my money fixing it. Are there some common malfunctions?

Also, I am interested in getting navigation on the vehicle and it sounds like it is beeter to go with OEM command system becasue of the fiber optics, can I even buy this part and install it if the car did not have it from the factory?

I wouldn't say their high maintenance, just expensive maintenance, follow the schedule and if the car is in good condition when you buy it, and you follow factory maintenance or better ( I change my oil at 5K instead of 10K) you should enjoy many years of driving pleasure. Congrats!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I was just reading the other boards on this site and it seems like others have had electrical problems with their windows, power seats and lights burning out. Hopefully that won't happen to me :)

I am def gonna post some pics up after I pick her up. I am pretty close on closing the deal on the CLK430, but I just got an offer for a CLK55 and am considering that too. Need some advice help! Maintenance cost between the two about the same?
