I have a 2003 clk320 with 25,000 miles. I recently purchased it and love the car. However, the convertable top just stopped signalling when it was up and will not complete the "up - cycle" electroncally, although mechanically it is complete. When I put the car in drive, the bell chimes to let me know the top is not up, although it is actually up. I pulled the backing off the convertable cover and look at the lock switch and it appears to be operating fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, the leds on my dispaly that indicate time and temp work intermittently. Is there a know problem with these leds and an easy fix?

 

its ahrd to say there are about 8 microswithes that tell the top what position its in. so the top works as it should? goes up and down? when its down does the chime chime? or only when up? sometimes the very back bow where the window is is not fully seated down on the body. also compare the gap from the roof to the body above the windshield and make sure its latched totally. its tough to really say with out the Benz computer to help in pinpointing the problem.
