Subject: Center console replacement on 99' slk

Hello, as I'm sure you've heard before, my center console, and
interior door handles are (a grey color) slowly pealing to reveal the black
under color. So therefore, I'd like to replace those parts myself and
possibly paint them black. I understand the handle can be snapped or pride
off from a knotch at tht bottom side of each interior door handle. However,
would you recommend I use a flat tip screwdriver? Is there a special trick
to prying them off without breaking the plastic? Could you also recommend
how to remove and replace the center console(also grey)? My slk is a manual
5 speed stick.

I also need to replace my carbon fuel filter. Could you direct me on where
to find it within the car. As well as to how to replace it?

I'd truly appreciate any help you can offer.

Here's the instructions showing how to remove the center console. Just be carefull not to get too wild with that screwdriver.

Pry the cover off (highlighted in yellow on the picture) - Hope this is what you were looking for
