hi all my name is mark and i have a problem (there ive said it)

seriously though i have a w202 w reg (2000) c240 sport that i have had for 5 years
the wife went to asda today (engine cold) and had to turn back after 1/2 a mile because she was unable to get any power from the engine when she got back it was missing badly and smelt like she had been flat out for ages it smelt really hot

i turned it off to call a mate and when he said bring it round i started it and all was ok

its fine again now any ideas

when then computer feels a misfire its shuts down the injection pulse, [ie the cylinder with the misfire ] so no to damage the engine and when you turned car off and back on it reset allowing the engine to run . so not feeling a misfire on restart it didn't shut off cylinders. you could still have problem , need to scan for codes in ME [engine management] tech needs to diagnose if problem is present or not , but erase codes and see if problem returns.
