2010 glk thermastat
Check engine light came on and took it to the stealer.Code said thermostat not working right.Sooo new thermostat $198.00,anti-freeze $28.00,V-belt $68.00,labour $260.00 plus tax.Reaming FREE.

And? If it fixed the problem you have nothing to complain about. Repairs are a natural part of owning ANY car.
$200 is what it normally costs to get the genuine part. (From a dealer)
$28 is what coolant would cost to buy over the counter and at 4 years old, it was time to change your coolant anyways. (No, it has a 10 or 15 year life)
$68 for the serpentine belt (your car does not use v-belts) is normal. (From a dealer)
$260 labor is reasonable for 2 hours labor. (2 hours is about right but $130 for highschool auto shop 1 skills is high)
Be thankful the check engine light found the problem for you. Driving with a bad thermostat can severely damage the engine.
Would you rather buy a $3000 engine instead of a $200 thermostat?
(Yes, I know you're talking in Canadian dollars)

Anti-freeze $25
V-belt $30 (We all knew what you meant)
Labor about 2 hours in the garage (Would have been less if it was not 25 deg F)

The only difference I saw was the temp gauge normally read 90 then started to sit at 80 after new thermostat install back to 90.Sorry about the v-belt I do not know a lot about cars that's one of the reason for joining the forum and yes that is in Canadian dollars but still hurt.
