2002 E class Wagon - recommended?

I am thinking of buying a 2002 E class wagon for my family. Any thoughts?

It will be a daily driver. Wife has long commute with child. Brabus version found here in Japan (appears to only to be cosmetic changes... no engine mods but sus was lowered and 19 inch wheels but otherwise stock as far as I can tell). Low miles. Good condition.

Waw. Are you in really Japan ? Is it common to buy used German cars in Japan ? Does it cost a lot to own them ? Are they very expensive ?

really in Japan

yes I am really in Japan and German cars are not uncommon here... most cars are of course Japanese... and almost none are American... but European cars are not uncommon... but the cost of ownership is high... and service can be tough unless you are in a big city (which I am not).

that said I just bought a 1999/2000 (there is some weirdness with the years here) E class Brabus Wagon... will take delivery in about 2 weeks (paper work is hell here!)

I have owned Japanese and German cars most of my life... my 1997 BMW Z3 was the most trouble free car I have ever owned to date... I hope the Benz proves to be as reliable... I owned the Z for 5 years (2004-2009) and never had an ounce of trouble... was just too small for my needs as the family grew...

Good. Brabus is the coolest Mercedes money can buy as far as I know. Not sure how Brabus wagon looks like. Must be special.

I do not know about quality of E-class. Internet says that E-class is the best benz from the reliability perspective. It is even used as Taxi car in some countries (I saw them in Germany and Switzerland in a quality of a regular cab car).

I used to have CLK before. It was a no-trouble car. But had to change it to E-class because of family reasons.
