Whats involved in cleaning the wheel speed sensors?

Default Whats involved in cleaning the wheel speed sensors?

Haven't had to do the brakes yet, so haven't had a close look at them.

Tried to loosen the wheel sensor on the driver side and think I stripped the head, hopefully the next time a mechanic has to remove them they have something to get them off with- I was turning counterclockwise.....I did blast the back side out with water so we'll see if this helps, I'm only concerned about the head I stripped. Does the wheel sensor have to come off when changing the pads?
