I've sorted on ere before re a noise coming from under the bonnet of my slk230.
Had it checked out . Its apparently the kompressor.
Warranty may pay for repair. But told its quite normal. And often even after repair. Noise can come back.
Is this true?
Does anyone recommend i get this done if possible.
It is very noisy. Performance is not affected.
Just sounds like a bag of spanners when ticking over etc.
Any advice gratefully accepted.

My 1998 Kompressor used to make a cool throttle sound during 'take off' if you hit the gas pedal. It quit making that cool sound when an error code came up last week, and I have since had a small part replaced (charcoal filter thing). The error code had been cleared but I don't have that cool sound anymore. How do I know if my supercharger is working correctly? Would that 'take off' sound have been made by the kompressor or the exhaust system? Difficult to describe the sound, but I believe it was featured in a video some where - kinda like a blat blat blat in rapid succession. It seems the car still has relatively good power...no error codes on dash.
