SLK loses power/misfires while driving
Hey everyone,
I have a 1999 SLK230 that has been running perfectly till now. Its had a bad fuel filter for awhile i believe (when i start my car i have to tap the accelerator to keep it alive). Today while pulling into traffic (around 40mph) the car loses all power to engine. I push the pedal all the way down and nothing happens, no RPM, no noise, just silence. The car stays on and has no problem turning on and off. This happened about a month ago during the same senario and i waited 10min and drove away no problem. It seemed to happen during the same senario, as I was accelerating hard to merge with traffic. I read on here that it could be the MAF, any other thoughts and ideas? Also the engine light is on and I'm taking it to a mechanic Tuesday morning, just want to see if anyone has some info before i head into this. Thanks everyone!
