SLK 320 no crankl
hello all, I work at an independant repair shop specializing in Imports, mostly european. We have an 01 SLK 320 that we are having trouble figuring out, and I figures I would post on here and se if you guys had any ideas.
like I said its a 01 SLK 320, the car will not crank at all.
We have replaced the crank sensor and the Pulse circut starter relay, but the symptoms remain.
Any of you guys got any ideas? thanks in advance for any help you can give.

RE: SLK 320 no crankl
Don't understand why you would replace the crank sensor if it doesn't crank at all, the crank position sensor only works when the flywheel is spinning. So I understand, you turn the key and nothing happens, engine doesn't make those starting noises you are used to. I'm assuming the mechanic checked the obvious, battery, cable connections from battery, starter is OK. So what I would do is check voltage at the starter while your assitant tries to crank it. If there's voltage present, then it's probably the starter, if there isn't then it gets more complicated. MB uses fuseable links in the wiring harness to prevent a fire. These are like fuses but are not in the fuse box, they are in the harness. If one of these tripped, it could prevent you from starting the car. Usually I've seen this happen from an improper jump start for example. Also, the ignition switch could be bad. The mechanic should be able to pull that out and test it.
