after heavy rain water comes out of the boot lid at the catch as I open it up - any ideas where this coming from and how to solve

 

Not sure, but may be wicking in around the seal.
IMPORTANT If water in your boot then it can get into PSE control unit next to spare tyre on right (in foam box). Ensure this is dry or many vehicle functions will play up.
