Default Resetting Check Engine Light

O2 sensor failure - replaced it. Does the light have to be reset by a technician? Tired of driving around with the damn thing on.

Sure it was the O2 sensor at fault? Why do you think it was the O2 sensor?
What was the code?
Should reset after a few cycles dependent upon age of vehicle etc.
Recheck what codes are showing.
Reset can also be accomplished with a simple scan tool at the time the codes are read.

Thanks for the info. The fault code was for the forward O2 sensor. I will have it checked again.

Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes, that will clear codes. Just make sure you have your radio code handy.
