Reprogram and Recut Key
I was in head on collision with my 1998 SLK230... luckily I broke my foot... could have been much worse. I had just purchase a new key with the remote for it... over $400.
Well, considering the fact that the car did its job and saved me... it was totaled, I tracked down another one just like it and ordered it. Same color, same interior, everything, but a one owner car like mine with 9800 miles on it!
So, can I get that expensive replacement key reprogrammed and recut, or am I out of luck? The replacement car had one key with it, and the selling dealer (a wholesaler) purchased another key for me from a dealer for $370, but I'd like to not just throw away the new key.
