Paying Too much? 230 or 320?
Just bought an 01 slk230 a week ago in Chicago. Drove it home (500 mi) and got right at 34 mpg with 92 octane on the interstate. Purchase price (not a MB dealer) was $21,000/50,500 mi. I needed to get the stereo code from a dealer and one of the rims was losing a small part of the clear coat. Not a great deal wrong other than that. (it did have minor rock chips that I have taken care of/ and some wear on the interior paint (two tone) but I kind of think this is normal) Just a current number for you. I did also see an 04 crossfire with 800 mi on it for $26,000, but not a convertible. I really haven't seen much less than $25,000 to be honest. Good luck and happy motoring.

Sounds like you got a great deal. I do a boat load of driving (150 per day) and did look at a 230 six speed prior to getting my 320. But. I am happy with the lack of maintainance issues and reasonable performance considering the fuel economy I am getting. I wonder how a SLK 32 does on fuel?
