oil filter question
 

Does anyone know if I can get an oil filter for my SLK320 at a Chrysler dealership? Does the Crossfire use the same Mann filter? It sure would make finding one locally easier.

Very good question Drew. I down loaded the CrossFire manual from the web site you put on the forum. The whole engine and electonics are the same as the SLK320. The manual is 2004, as you know. I would almost bet you could get the correct oil filter from Chrysler. Let me how you make out.

Yup! Called the local dealership and the parts guy unwraped one and sure enough...the same thing at the same price, and 35 miles closer to home! So, that means all the ML320, SLK320 and E320 owners can also get oil filter's at more places here in the states.

I also checked with GETCOOLPARTS and the part numbers are the same for each vehicle application. And THEY are more than $5 cheaper than at the dealerships. Next time I need one, I will order it through our sponser.

I guess that even MAS air flow sensors, belts, and a host of other parts may even work and could even be less money purchased as Chrysler parts.

It would be interesting to see what difference there is in pricing between the 2 dealers on various parts. I went through the 3307 pages of the Chrysler service manual, and it looks like to me, Chrysler changed the body and dash. The electronics, instrumentation, and engine are the same. "If it works, don't break it". Wish the SLK's had duel exhust. think that would really look great!
