Minor oil leak from rear end on SLK 2001
I noticed a drop of oil in my garage right below the rear end a couple of days ago. I have been keeping an eye on it and has not shown any signs of a leak. If it does can someone tell me how to change the rear end seal. Pics would be great.
Thanks |

There are 3 seals. One on the pinion, and one on each axle where the CV's go in.
Drive it backwards up onto ramps and have a look. Spray with cheap degreaser and hose off. This will make the job easier. Tell us which one it is. Also oil has been known to come from diff breather. Bazzle |

Thanks Bazzle,
I wiped it down and has not leaked in 3 days, maybe the oil came from another one of my cars. I'll keep an eye on it though. Where is the differential breather?? |
