Loss Of Power-O2?
2002 SLK 230
Got the check engine light. Reads out P0130 and P0131 - Oxygen sensor. Additionally, when warmed up it intermittently has a loss of power as if the fuel flow is stopped but never turns off. After a few seconds it returns. Very scary when pulling out into traffic. Local shop finds nothing except the O2 sensor and history of a misfire. Question - will this sensor failure cause an intermittent losss of power? If no, any ideas. Sensor to be replaced tomorrow - on order. They also tell me that the computer does not give nearly as much info as other M-B's. Thanks for any insight. |
RE: Loss Of Power-O2?
Get the MAF cleaned too.
I have used carby clean sparingly and compresed air to dry. Oil mist gets thru system and contaminates sensors. Bazzle |
RE: Loss Of Power-O2?
Thanks bazzle.
That was discussed with the technician yesterday. The car is going in tomorrow AM for the O2 sensor swap out. I will have him do that. It only makes sense to me that it has to be the MAF because it is intermittent. Yesterday the car ran fine until I went up the local interstate at about 85 mph and the damn thing misfired a couple of times. Everything was fine again until I stopped at a red light and it started misfiring big time. Then the check engine light came on again. Everything fine since then. We'll try it and thanks for the assistance. |
