lifetime mileage
 

thinking about buying a 2000 SLK with 66,000 miles. this seems average. my question is how long can these car go? 100,000, 200,000, or 300,000 miles before they need to be retired?

I'm expecting my 320 SLK to do 200,000 easily. Currently 100,000 miles without a hiccup.
Only problem has been a dirty air mass flow meter (required cleaning when engine malfunction light came on) and a central locking PSE unit. Brake rotors and rear pads are originals.
Uses NO oil and returns 30mpg comfortably on the open road at reasonable speeds.
Body work 100%

I have a '75 450SL roadster with 61,000+ miles and it runs beautifully!

thanks for your input. I just bought a 1998 SLK230 Hardtop Convertible wit 48K miles on it.
seems to be in great condition. my first mercedes...

My first MB too! I have a hard and soft top, but I do not plan to take the hard top off. I'm afraid of the wear and tear of the frame, and have no where to store it. The car was in good shape when I got it and hardly has a blemish on it! I had to replace the radio, hoses, front brakes and belts, but my mechanic did it for next to nothing.

Bought my 98 SLK230 with 64k miles and just crossed 100k. Runs great aside from having to clean the MAF sensor.
