I have a 1999 230slk and the check engine light is on. I need to smog in Az and get registration. I took it in and the guy replaced a few vacume hoses turned of the ck eng light and said go drive for 50 miles before getting smog. The light never made it. 3rd trip to diagnose I was told I have a crack in the intercooler for the turbo. He quoted $1200 to R&R. I found the part for about $100. anyone see this problem before? Looks like intercoolers are very common to replace for performance. suggestions?
