Can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn off the emergency telephone light on a 2001 SLK 230? I was told that if you do not get the service the light stays on always.
It is located near the garage door opener.

was it blinking?

if it is, then you might need to insert a SIM card or the configuration got problem.

if you are not planning to use, it can be dis-abled by using the diagnostic computer.

disconnecting the TELE-AID control module under the driver's seat will also do the trick.

 

Thanks Sleepwalker, I probably will use the diagnostics computer to disable it.
Not planning on using it.
