Default Help a nebie please

Can anyone help ?
My 230SLK pride and joy needs some TLC
I have noticed within the centre armrest the plastic moulding that carries the cigarette lighter has developed a large crack (probably self inflicted when I plugged in my hand held sat nav power supply - DOH)
Looks like it may be replaceable with a bit of pursuasion
Has anyone done this previously ?
If yes, was it straightforward ? Was the part easily obtainable. etc ?

Any help much appreciated

Centre console switches ashtray etc are quite straightforward to remove.
Key is two screws located at the top of the radio aperature. You need to remove radio first to access these.
Need radio removal tool. Available on eBay.

Actually, you don't need to remove the radio to get the center console out. Pop out the chrome trim from around the shift lever, pry up the plastic plate that was under it, (has the window switches mounted in it), take out two screws under that plate and then the two screws and two nuts found in back of the armrest, (nuts under felt flap inside armrest). Pull the rubber handbrake grip off the brake lever and set the brake. Lift the console up and disconnect the wiring underneath.

The rest is pretty obvoius.

Hope this helps,

Apologies. thanks for the correction.
I though the cigarette lighter (I never use it) was in the ash tray/coin tray which is in the lower part of centre part of the dash (like on my S Class).
I described how to move the centre part of the dash to gain access to the coin tray thing.
