Has anyone had a problem with the gearshifter rattling. My does it every time it touch the gas. It sounds like a penny in shifter box? Not sure what to call it, the black box the shifter handle runs into. It drives me crazy! I tempted to take it out and see what it is, but I'am affraid springs, keepers, shims, and the like will go flying everywere. Any ideas???

what kind of car?? usually it is just a rubber bushing that attaches the shifter to the shift rod and the rubber just breaks off causing the shifter to move in the shift rod linkage. there are 2 of them one at the trans side of the rod and one at the shifter side of the rod.
