Default gas in the r170 vapor canister

I don't know how many have had the gas hose not shut off when filling your slk and get gas down into the vapor canister. The first time it happened we were out in the middle of nowhere in Arizona 100+ miles from Page. We had just picked up the car a couple days earlier in Austin. Not knowing exactly what happened and how serious it was, it was a nightmare driving at a top speed of 35 mph and not knowing if we were going to get stranded. We finally limped into Page and got a room, the next day I called the dealer to find out it would eventually clear up. After about 150 miles it did start running good. Well it happened again here locally. this time I just stopped and let it idle for a couple of hours with the gas cap off. It died many times before clearing up, but it ended up doing the trick. I don't know if having a loose gas cap makes a difference. Anyway if it happens to you, don't worry, it will eventually be ok.

Default Gas pump didn't shut off

same thing happened to me; went in & told cashier I am damn mad; gas ran all over lot; he just gave me $10; & had a girl go put absorbent on it; took off > spit, sputtered, everything else; so finally got on hwy 55 in Illinois; ran slower for about 30, 40 miles than finally cleared up
