Fuel Pump Replacement?
 

Has anyone replaced the fuel pump on their SLK? My wife's 1999 SLK230 apparently has a bad fuel pump, I checked it Saturday and the fuel pump is getting 12 v. when the key is turned to the start position, and the pump "ticks" over a few times, but I am not seeing any fuel at the fuel rail.
So I assume that the fuel pump has died. Just looking at the way the pump is hooked up, it looks like that the fuel tank has to be emptied before the pump can be replaced. I did not see any way of isolating it from the tank, is this correct?
