Cup holders are NOT cup holders.

Cup holders are NOT cup holders.
We now know that those things that we have been calling cup holders are just NOT that. They are drink coolers. With the A/C set on 'automatic' a can of room temperature beer can be brought to a refreshing temperature within just a few minutes. And since the cooler limits you to just two cans there is no chance that you could get busted for driving under the influence. OK, some places have open container laws.

it is indeed.
on some models, they may wonder why there is an air duct and cold air going inside the center console armrest compartment.
the cup holder is in there too.

I have heard this really upsets coffee drinkers.
Hey, forgetabout it. I live in Miami Beach. When do we want to drink hot coffee? Besides, the little Cafe Cubano cups would fall through anyway.
The bad part about it though, is if the top is down, and the A/C is on with a can in there, condensation drips madly off the can onto the Command NAV unit. It hasn't fried yet, thankfully.
When you look at the packaging, there really isn't anywhere better for them to be.
