1. give in... wheres the socket?
2.Can I get a generic reader for codes?
3. Is there a list of codes posted?

I did search but came up minimal.

Hmm

No connector next to hood release, only a knock out panel (still in place) must be none on Australian spec vehicles?
Is there one in Computer box under hood?

yes, that's it. the knock out panel... inside that one.

or else it's under the hood, the round type. either on right side or else in left... on the control unit box.

Has anyone seen a reasonably priced Code reader that fits this socket?

that's it.

you can find many variations that can be use on it.

better get the one where you can do coding or adaptations and can display actual values too.
