the chrysler slk

I just stumbled accross a black 05 crossfire coupe. It caught my eye and the 11k price tag on the windshield intrigued me a bit too. I thought too at that price it would be high mileage. Anyway my wife had always liked the looks of them but she got a 300 instead, grand kids. mercedes had just bought and revamped chrysler and it was the only sedan I liked the looks of. That night I did a little research and found out the crossfire came out of the same plant in germany as the slk320. so basically it's a slk320 but a coupe or ragtop. anyway I sent my better half down to the dealer just to take a look. she came back quickly and told me it had only 17,000 miles on her and she loved it. so after snagging it. I put her up next to the slk230 at home and after opening the hoods I found most all parts were the same other than the six cylinder, instead of a four, it was the same car. so if you don't care about the retractable hardtop. same car different look. nice car, why not it's a mercedes and prices are good right now. so if you're in the market for an inexpensive slk.

a chrysler in name only. drivetrain and most other parts can be purchased from mercedes if chrysler goes down. I wouldn't buy a new government run chrysler or GM, but this crossfire has nothing to do with chrysler but the name. it is a slk. for us, 215 hp is just fine, a 330 hp supercharged srt-6 would just get us into trouble.
