You already have one. Its in the hose from intercooler to airbox. Valve flap controlled by the engine computer.
You need a turbo car by the sound of it. A larger engine pulley is normally needed to get boost up.

Ask the shop where you spent your money.

The only way to increase boost out of a supercharger is to change the pulley.

Boost controllers are used to control a turbo's wastegate. This will allow exhaust gas to either enter the turbine (to increase boost) or bypass it to lower boost (in general). Superchargers do not work this way.

For more general knowledge that might clarify: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercharger
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boost_controller

Hope that helps.

Oh, and get your money back from the guys that told you it would work on your car...

you sound like your friends have turbo cars. I may speak for myself when saying that the old myth is true to a certian extent. Were not stuck up people because we drive a benz. But I do feal we show respect for one another. What the cussing bud we can get your point in many other ways.
You dont need a boost gauge in your supercharger car you would have to change the pully to increase the power
