06 SLK Noise
I have a 2006 SLK 230 with 7,000 miles. It has started making a whinning noise during acceleration. Any idea what could cause this? I hate to take it to the dealership if it's nothing. Thanks.

RE: 06 SLK Noise
May be
1. idler bearing noise (easy fix) on fan belt but probably 2. Supercharger whine (most times normal.) Bazzle |
RE: 06 SLK Noise
Thanks for the help. I stopped by the dealership today to let them listen to the noise. They think it is a pully in the altenater (sp.). It goes in the shop on 9/7. It's disappointing. This is the 2nd MB I have owned and they have both had problems before I reached 10,000 miles.

RE: 06 SLK Noise
Early in a car's life is when substandard parts show their weaknesses and fail. This is normal for all machinery.
Of the thousands of precision made parts it takes to build a car, some are bound to be defective. If you think about it, it is amazing a larger percentage don't fail since venders make products to work together with other suppliers parts, each having to work perfectly. You have purchased a great vehicle, it is just shaking out the weaklings. |
RE: 06 SLK Noise
Still waiting on my service appointment. I get in it today to drive it. I have an "ESP Warning. Take to Service Center" Well the service Center is closed for the Holiday. They would repair it last week when the were open. My patience with MB is just about run out. This has been my 2nd MB and both have had major problems. The car only has 7,000 miles. I hate to think what will happen once I get more miles.
