OK. After further review, and inspecting others for sale, I have found others for sale at about $26K. Seems like a good buy for such a great car. A red, black or blue vehicle would fetch the highest $$$'s. About 1/3 of the original cost.
In my town, I found a loaded black 2000 SL500 on a car lot for $32K which means you can get THAT car from a private party for about $25K. Hard to believe that a vehicle that was over $90K six years ago and is still in cherry condition lost so much value.
Most vehicles lose 75-80% of their value in five years and then level off if they are in great condition and well cared for. Some eventually go up in value. I believe the AMG models will always be desirable and hold their own.

I looked at SLK32's for my wife and in this area they seem to ask in the high twenties, maybe take mid twenties. My problem is my wife only wants white and just about every SLK is silver. She doesn't care if it's an SLK230, 320 or 32 as long as it's white.
