01 SLK 320Jumping out of reverse
I drove a buddies 01 SLK 320 6 spd at an autocross on sunday and me being foriegn to the MB transmissions I went to grab second and hit reverse.
Now the car wants to jump out of gear in reverse. Its nto constant but it happens quite a bit. I call around and my first thought was a bent shift fork. The last guy I talked to said is was the dog gears for reverse.
I also found out that MB doesnt sell parts for that transmission and nobody around here has had one open.
Has anyone else had this problem and what does a used 6 spd transmission cost?

you cannot bend the fork because it is strongly made and heavy.
the reverse gear synchronizer ring must have been distorted.
of course you can buy individual parts for it. very much repairable.
was that a sequentronic transmission or with clutch???
