87 560 SL Driver's Seat & Door Check
The springs in the driver's side seat have come loose in the back......I can reach under seat and can visualize problem, but can't seem to get to it to fix. Can someone tell me how to remove seat? I can see the bolts, but there is one hell of a spring under there that I don't think I want to try to stretch back into place. Does this seat tie into the SRS?
Also, a gust of wind caught the driver's door and broke the door check......I have the part (talk about an over engineered piece of equipment)! But can't seem to get it installed.
Looks like the window motor is in the way and I can't seem to see how the motor is in there.......
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

RE: 87 560 SL Driver's Seat & Door Check
I took the seats out of my 87 SL and it was a horrible job till i visualized how it goes together. I took them out to put new sheepskins on them and i'll tell U that i will never do that again. once i figured out how to get the seat back in it went pretty easily. It is like a puzzle; it has to fit in just the correct order.
I had the seat rebuilt on my old diesel and it cost me $150 in an upholstery shop, just to re-spring it not including any actual upholstery work.
I replaced the door checks in my 123 and it was relatively easy. I don't know how hard it is to do on a 107, but i wouldn't imagine it would be all that hard. I think i replaced on on my 124 bodied 88 too? but don't remember for sure. As far as the window goes, i replaced a motor on my 82 123 but it was really difficult. unless U are a pretty good mechanic I would pass on that one..Pete Walls
