Default Transmission of 2003 SL55

Has anyone had the transmission of SL500 or SL55 kickout of gear as the car downshifts and go to neutral, allthough the gear shift is in drive? Please let me know. The dealer has never heard of that, Amazingly enough it has happened on another car of mine a 2004 S600.
Thanks

I have the same problem, I hear a clunk when engine is reving down from 4-5000 rpm prior to up-shifiting. It is as if transmission goes into neutral but gear shift is still in drive. I hit the gas but no drive, just increase rpm of engine but still coasting. When i get down to 30mph drive comes back and is normal again. This happens often, so i try not to go into 5000 rpm and let off the gas abruptly and it does not happen as much. If you have found the problem please let me know-i would like to fix this soon. thanks
