timing belt guide

A timing belt plastic guard broke off and is just bouncing around inside the housing. Any tricks on how to get this out besides pulling out the front part of the engine? Must it be re-placed? 1992 500 sl

I would strongly recommend it!!! That's timing chain guide...you loose some tension...then it could jump timing and that means a new Engine coz those are interference Engines...
