Sqeeling from the power steering

Ive just developed some sqeeling from the power assisted steering on my 92 sl500. It seems to be an issue only for the first five minutes during startup and then disappears after a short while. The noise comes when turning the wheel in either direction even at standstill.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

check your belt. if ok, you might try tightening your belt tensioner by a turn and see if that helps.
