SL320 1995 – digital temp gauge
The reading of the outside temperature starts off let it is correct – then runs up like 20 - 30 degrees F higher than it really is. I’m guessing the sensor needs to be replaced?

the part is cheap enough for a try. You can check the values of the sensors by turning the ingnition to position 2. press REST and within a second press the 4 button for your fan speed control. use the F and C buttons to go back and forth checking readings. 02 Is the inside car temperature sensor, 04 outside sensor, 06 evaporator sensor, 08 heater core, etc. you're more interested in 04. that's is the temperature being fed to the climate control module.

might as well give them all. 12 is engine coolant temp, 14 is temperature selector wheel setting, 18 is the vehicle speed signal, 20 is soft top open (u) or closed (o), 22 is the power supply voltage and 84 is the voltage to the blower motor. 83 is not used
