No instruments - Warning lights stay on
 

1999 SL500. Drove yesterday and noticed instrument panel dead. Clock had stopped 7 hours after last drive previous day. Stopped for lunch, started up and check engine light comes on, get home, turn off car and light stays on. Hours later still on. Check fuse 5 in back and it's good. Start car and ESP light in speedometer comes on, no instruments, and lights never went off. This morning, disconnect battery, connect and all warning are on and don't go off. Have battery disconnected now.
Any ideas?

btw my car is a 2007 Jeep grand cherokee laredo!!
