New Guy here! First question:Hardtop Stand

Hey Guys,
Just surfing the web and came across this awesome forum. I have a 1998 SL and have never really used the Hardtop (sits in the basement under cover). It really is a different car with the harptop on and I'd like to drive it a little later into the season this year. I'm looking for the best place to shop for a hardtop stand for easy on and off fun this fall.
Thank in advance,
E

Never had a hardtop, but even for unloading my 500 lb watercraft from small trailer I've been using ceiling hooks and winches.
In my opinion if you have garage with high ceiling, having some blocks with ropes to lift the top and keep it there is the best option.

I picked up a nice hardtop stand on ebay for 89.00. With shipping it was 115 total.

Hey Roadman,
I think we bought the same one from maybe the same e bay seller. I also paid $115.00 from a guy called "bigbabbo". Stand is fine works well, but after I bought it I saw quite a few warnings here on this forum about "bigbabbo". I probably wouldn't buy any parts from the guy.
Hey I have 98 SL with 35K and I'm looking at tires in the spring also. Please feel free to keep in touch through the winter and compare notes. I'm here in Ohio and plan on storing my baby real soon. Spring can't come soon enough.
Regards,
E

Thanks for the info. This is the first time I've been on the forum in awhile, so I just saw your reply. I'm still looking into tires for the spring.
