Hey everybody,

I'm new, just registered, and this is my first post. After this I'll probably post by the new guy topic.

I'm planning on picking up a 1973 450slc. I really like the style of this car, and I took a ride in an original, and yes, it was a very good time. I live in the Midwest, and I just wanted to know if anyone could help me out with looking for a ride. It does NOT have to be in good condition. Needs to be working though, but I was a little fixer-upper job, just to see what I could all do and learn.

I'm looking at one right now actually, and might have it by the end of the month. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions for me to help me out a tad since I am new to the scene. I'm also thinking about touring, or maybe racing. MAYBE racing. I'm not sure. But if anyone could also list some performance part sources or anything I could do to the 450 to pull anything more out of it, I'd be greatful.

Also, this one guy was showing me this car, and it took about 3-4 tries to get it started, he said it was because of the electric fuel pump. I just wasn't sure if he was BSing me or not, someone please let me know.

Performance suggestions, tips, and just general upkeep tips would be cool, thanks.
