I have found a really nice 560SL I am interested in buying. Just as I began negotiating price we pulled up the Carfax and found that the reported miles are very suspicious. All reported #s are rounded off example:

So the miles are all rounded off by the state inspection stations.
There are no repair records on the Carfax although the owner claims to have many of them.

The thing is the car looks great and consistent with a 40k mile car. All stickers, etc are correct and it has won trophies at several car shows.

How much would this vague Carfax effect the value? The seller is asking in the 25k range.

I would pass unless you're really in love with the car - the mileage issue is a somewhat red flag to me. A full PPI report from an independent MB mechanic should give you all the info you need to decide if it's right for you. Hope this helps a bit and best of luck!
