Mechanical issues with 2000 500SL
I am new to the forum and have never owned a MB before. I have always admired the 500SL and am now in a position to purchase one. I am looking at a 2000 500SL that looks very clean. It has 48,000 miles but I am concerned about some major issues that were fixed at 28,000 miles. My questions are as follows:
Is it typical for the following items to have been replaced at 28,000 miles on a 2000 500SL:
a) Motor mount (one replaced at 18,000 miles) How long do they last?
b) Pinion seal
c) Valve cove gasket
d) Starter
e) Water pump
f) Transmission computer/module
The car now has 48,000 miles and has had no more issues. What can I expect to have to replace over the next few years?
Thank you,
Mike
