Looking to Buy True 1999 SL500 AMG
 

I know this Car is the Real McCoy
What I would like to know is the exact specs
This Rare car had as far as HP increase from the standard 302hp
Brakes all the options that were added for the AMG special additions
I know the current owner so I know this not a replica just badged as AMG
Car has about 100k on it what is s very reasonable price

I think the true amg is badged SL55 and has about 50 more hp than the 500. they are great cars regardless of which it really is. run a CARFAX® - Official Site - Vehicle History Reports on Used Cars for Sale before you buy it. make sure everything works, a/c, top, check for leaks. oil and water. hopefully you'll have it's service records for tranny, oil & filter, coolant, plugs, distributor caps and rotors, wiring, hoses, etc. the power-train if has been maintained properly should last you another 300k. might have to changed the timing chain and some seals down the road. as I've said a bunch of times on this forum, I love my sl.

It's my Boss who has it I am around it allot. We have it in a show right now.
The car does not leak water inside or fluids underneath about 94,000 miles
On the rear Deck lid says SL500 on the right side says AMG and on l/R of both fenders where the vents are Says Sport
He is 61 now and played In the NFL for the Raiders in the 70's.
I may need to get a front Bumper cover for and figure out how to freshen up the stainless on the Grill slats and. He said he would sell to me for 18k.
The Disk brake rotors look yo be 12" rotors
Staggered tires AMG is stamped on the wheel spoke of each wheel.
He said he did research before he bought it so he knew what he had.
Told me only 1100 were built this way in 1999. And roughly 55 more HP than its stock SL500.
Any more info would so much appreciated.

I have a 96 non sport. Sport has a firmer ride, different wheels, 17" lower profile tires. Not certain other differences, but having the VIN and entering on this site will tell you everything about the build.

Nice ride, however the price seems a little steep?
