Default Looking for 2005/06 Nav System

OK I may not realize all that I am asking for - but I would like to find a used 2005 or newer NAV/Radio system (i.e. a DVD based NAV system) to replace the CD based unit in my 2003 SL500.
Now the unknowns - while I know the Trim is different - what other things am I missing? Is the DVD in a player in the trunk - or does it insert into the Control Head (think some of the Euro units do this - since they can also play DVDs on some cars) - if it is in the trunk - I will need to acquire that unit too :-). Does anyone know if physically it can fit? Any knowledge on the cabling differences - given it basically has the same functions I would hope it wouldn't be too different - but then I am an optimist.
Anyway -if anyone has knowledge - or access to a system - please let me know
Thanks

Very Dangerous to tell an Engineer "It Can't Be Done"

OK seriously - why can it not be done? Is there an interface issue? Is there a control issue?

I would still like to know if anyone has the Nav/Radio head for a 2005 or newer SL500/600 for sale
