Fuel tank internal bits (1988 560SL)
 

Peered inside my rusty fuel tank expecting to just see the swirl pot and some tubes. Was surprised to see an extra piece (evap valve?) and some plastic panels on the long sides of the tank.

Anyone know what those pieces are supposed to do?
