Dumb question.
 

So I worked on. Couple 1980's SL's for a guy before and like them. I'm looking to restore one for myself. I found a 1980 500 SL but the guy is telling me it has no soft top or place for it. Which would make it an SLC correct? If this is the case would it have SLC on the back emblem? Also any one know where I can get the older vins decoded while I'm searching?
